Job readiness

The Pre-Employment Work Maturity course prepares participants to enter the world of work. Pre-Employment Work Maturity consists of two parts where the first section, Pre-Employment, addresses job search preparation and the second section, Work Maturity, addresses job retention.

A participant enrolled in this course needs to demonstrate proficiency in making career decisions; using labor market information; preparing resumes; filling out applications and interviewing. Other significant evaluated areas are punctuality, regular attendance, demonstrating positive attitudes/behaviors, presenting proper appearance, exhibiting good interpersonal skills and completing tasks effectively.

Arizona OIC’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), a group of company representatives who assist OIC to enhance individual self-reliance and to promote community-based academic and vocational education, direct workshops to impress upon participants demanded societal skills necessary in industry.

To attain the required proficiency for Pre-Employment a participant completes the following curriculum:
